Zion National Park

We went to Zions to celebrate our anniversary and also Lily's birthday. It was the first camping trip we had ever been on as a family. We had to wake up super early and start driving because the camp grounds fill up fast. We got there at about 9 and were able to find a great spot. My parents let us take the tent trailer up there which was really nice. We got all set up at camp and then wanted to hit the Narrows to cool off.

We didn't go too far into the narrows because we had Lily with us and honestly it was a little scary with her. We turned around once we hit the spot that was waste deep water. It was so pretty and we enjoyed the short hike that we did. The next day we went on the Emerald Pools hike, which was pretty easy.

Lily fell asleep on the hike in so we set her on the ground to finish her nap. It was so cute to see her face all smashed against her carrier.

When she woke up we hung out at the Emerald Pools for a little while. Lily liked to put her feet in the water and she figured out how the camelbak worked and completely soaked herself. When we hiked out she stayed awake and then we just hung out at camp for the rest of the night. Lily slept pretty well for us, but I did have to put her in our bed one of the nights because she woke up cold. She makes our life so easy!

The last hike we did was Angel's Landing, which I was pretty nervous about. I had done this hike before with my family when I was younger and it wasn't the best experience. Plus we had Lily, and I remembered the last part of the hike where you have to hold onto chains. Needless to say, I was freaked out.

The hike in was pretty tough, but we just tried to take it slow and we survived. The switchbacks were never-ending but Bryce did great carrying Lily the entire way. We got tons of comments from people on the way up about having Lily with us. Bryce definitely gets "Father of the Year" award in my book!

Lily fell asleep during the last part of the hike, even with Bryce bouncing her all over the place. We were very proud that we made it to the top as a family. And now Lily can say that she was at the top of Angel's Landing before she could even walk! It turned out to be such an amazing trip, and a great way to celebrate our 3 year anniversary.
