Lily is 9 Months Old!

Our sweet Lily Bug is now 9 months old and we can't believe it! She is getting so big and I swear she changes every day. On St. Patrick's day she FINALLY started to crawl! It has been a long time coming, and honestly we were starting to get worried. But I guess she just got sick of rolling everywhere and wanted to try the whole crawling thing out. We are so proud of our little one. She has also started dancing. It is hilarious! It doesn't matter what kind of music comes on, she starts bouncing up and down and just loves it. Bryce laid down on the floor with her and started beat boxing and she started dancing. So funny!!

One of Lily's favorite thing to do is take a bath. She gets so excited when you get her undressed and ready for the tub. She has been spending a lot of time with her cousin Davis and she loves him! They both get so excited to see each other, and Davis is so sweet with her. They have taken baths together a number of times, and I just had to snap a picture one night that we had them in there. So Cute!

Another thing Lily loves is helping her mom with the laundry (ok she isn't much help, but it's still fun). She loves pulling the clothes out of the hamper and playing with them. When she sees the laundry basket she gets so excited and rushes over to help.

Lily finally has enough hair to fit into a pony, or pigtails and sometimes I even do it curly with a cute headband. One of my favorite things to do is get her all dolled up and do her hair super cute and then take her out into public. You wouldn't believe all the comments I get on how adorable my daughter is! I am such a proud mom.

Our friend Alice did her 9 month photos, and once again they turned out so stinking cute! It was quite a fun experience though. We stopped on the side of the road and then had to hike down this really steep slope in order to get to the spot Alice had in mind. Bryce was in his dress shoes, and I was in boots with heels on them. It was kind of scary getting down there, but it was definitely worth it! It was so pretty and we got some amazing photos.

She did really good for the first few photos, but it was so cold and she started to get really fussy. We tried to put her on the treasure box to get another cute shot, but she wouldn't stop crying. The pictures were still way cute though even though she was just beside herself.

We went back to Alice's apartment to get some inside shots, and they also turned out super cute. Lily makes it really easy on us because she is so dang cute! We can't believe how fast she is growing up, but we love her more every day.

Jazz Game

We got invited to go to a Jazz game on February 20th with Jesse and Alice. Jesse got some tickets from his work, and they were nice enough to ask us to go with them. We got to go down stairs to eat dinner before the game. The food was really great. They had beef, salmon, potatoes, veggies and yummy desserts of course. We felt pretty important down there with all the rich people. We had some pretty good seats in the lower bowl. I am pretty sure I have never had seats in the lower bowl before so I was really excited.

At half-time we got to go back down to get treats and drinks to enjoy. The score was really close all game, and the Jazz were usually ahead by a few points. But in the fourth quarter they fell apart. The other team ended up winning by a few points, which was quite disappointing. It was still a great game to watch, and it was fun to get out with some friends for the night.

8 Months, 2 Teeth, and a New Car Seat

Lily's first tooth popped through on January 25th, which is her 8 month birthday. A few weeks later her second tooth came through. So now she has the most adorable two teeth on the bottom of her mouth. I heard that babies were supposed to be super fussy when they start teething, but Lily wasn't too bad. She seemed a little bugged, but she really wasn't bad at all.

Lily is now big enough for a new car seat. It was really difficult for Bryce and I to decide on one. He really wanted to get the Britax car seat because it was one of the best rated, but they were extremely expensive. So he found one on ksl and bought it. But when he brought it home I did not approve. I really wanted her to have a new one. So it took a lot of arguing, but I finally got my way! We gave the Britax to my mom so she could have one to herself, and we bought a new one for Lily. Mommy and Lily were very happy.

She still is not crawling yet, but she rolls everywhere! It is so funny to watch her barrel roll all over the room. I'm sure she will start crawling soon, but I am fine if she takes her time. She is growing up so fast, it is breaking my heart. My sweet baby has such a personality now and we love her more every day!

And Another Great Year Comes to an End

We decided to have a party at our house this year for New Year's Eve. Our house is pretty small, but we were able to have quite a few people come over to celebrate with us. We had fun playing games and eating yummy food until we decided it was time for the fireworks.

Brad drove all the way to Evanston to get the good fireworks. We had a bunch of Bottle Rockets so we decided  to see who had the best shot. The boys set up some targets in our garden and then we had fun trying to light them on fire. We also shot off some fun ones into the sky. It was way fun to watch.

We went back inside to play a few more games, and then we watched the ball drop. Lily decided to wake up at about 11:45 so we let her stay up for her first New Year. We had a really hard time getting her to go back to sleep, but it was still such a fun night with our friends.

It has been such a great year! Lily is the most amazing baby, and we are so excited for her to grow up. This next year is going to be so much fun, and we can't wait for all of our new adventures with our sweet Lily Bug.

Merry Christmas 2011

Christmas this year was very different because it was on Sunday. We had to fit so much into a small window of time, but we pulled it off successfully. We started off the day at home, and Bryce and I exchanged gifts. Bryce got his toolbox, which he already knew he was getting, and I got my Kindle Fire! That was a total surprise, but I LOVED it!

After we finished opening our presents we got ready for the day and headed over to Grandpa Dave's house for breakfast and presents. We had a delicious breakfast with Dave, Becca, Darrin, Nikki, and Baby Ella. It was so nice to have them home for Christmas this year! We opened our presents after breakfast and had so much fun with Lily. She loved opening her presents. I think she was more interested in the wrapping paper than the presents, but it was still so much fun to watch her.

Lily got so many fun toys, she was definitely spoiled this year. Honestly I think she will be spoiled every year, but this year she was spoiled rotten! Dave got me my food processor. I am so excited to start making Lily baby food.

After we opened our presents, we just hung out and played with Lily until we needed to get ready for church. It was so nice to go to church with the whole Burnham family. Dave was so excited to show off his two adorable granddaughters. We headed up to Grandma and Grandpa Burnham's house after church. We had some more delicious food and then pulled out the traditional chimes. We had fun playing Christmas songs with the chimes, and then we were off to my parents house for dinner and presents.

We, of course, walked into my parents house and got ambushed by the nerf guns. Lily was a little nervous, but Davis thought it was a blast! We had an amazing dinner with my family, and then opened all of our presents. Davis and Lily were spoiled like crazy, of course. It was really fun to watch my parents open their presents from me. I spent a lot of time on the "H" that I gave them and it was a relief to see how much they liked it. Also, the pictures of Lily that I gave them were a huge hit!

The last picture shows how spoiled Lily was with all of her toys and books and clothes. We had an amazing Christmas this year, it was so fun to spend time with our families and we can't wait for next year.

Christmas Eve

We started off Christmas Eve with my side of the family at the Knowlden's house. We had some yummy lunch and then got ready for the talent show. We had Lily dressed in a Mrs. Clause outfit that my grandma gave her. She was so stinking cute!!

We got a few family pictures taken while we were all together. The one with Grandma Gay and all of her grandkids was pretty fun because Lauren was throwing a fit. We all just decided to cry right along with her!

We had to do the traditional candy game of course! We did it a little different this year though, we used dice instead of the right-left story. It was a lot of fun, and we even got away without any cheating! After the candy game we started the talent show. The Smith girls did some great piano numbers, Tara and Chris sang two songs, Bryce and I sang a hymn, J.D. and Tiffany did some country dancing, my dad sung a great Christmas song, and we even had a special musical number by Jenny!! Needless to say, it was quite entertaining.

We got some wonderful news while we were all there. We found out that my aunt Brooke is pregnant with her second child, and Tara also announced that she is pregnant. She had Davis in a shirt that said Big Brother on it and nobody noticed. She had to point it out to my mom. We are so excited for both of them, and they are only 2 weeks apart. The two babies will be so much fun together!

We topped off the festivities with presents and some singing. Stephanie passed out glow sticks to everyone and we sang Christmas songs with the lights off. It was pretty entertaining. Lily loved watching the glow sticks move around. She was completely mesmerized.

When we were done at the Knowlden's house we headed over to Dave's house. Lily opened up her cute Christmas pajamas, and we put them on her for some pictures. She was being so cute, we got some really great shots of her by the tree.

Darrin and Nikki came over for a little bit with sweet baby Ella. Dave read the classic Christmas scripture, and he let us open one gift. Instead of getting us pajamas he did something a little different this year. He gave Darrin and Bryce some D.A.D.D. (Dads Against Daughters Dating) t-shirts. Which is hilarious because Lily and Ella probably won't be dating for quite awhile. And he gave me and Nikki a silver heart necklace with this saying on it "A mother holds her child's hands for a short while but their hearts forever". So cute!! What a perfect way to end Christmas Eve.
