Christmas Eve

We started off Christmas Eve with my side of the family at the Knowlden's house. We had some yummy lunch and then got ready for the talent show. We had Lily dressed in a Mrs. Clause outfit that my grandma gave her. She was so stinking cute!!

We got a few family pictures taken while we were all together. The one with Grandma Gay and all of her grandkids was pretty fun because Lauren was throwing a fit. We all just decided to cry right along with her!

We had to do the traditional candy game of course! We did it a little different this year though, we used dice instead of the right-left story. It was a lot of fun, and we even got away without any cheating! After the candy game we started the talent show. The Smith girls did some great piano numbers, Tara and Chris sang two songs, Bryce and I sang a hymn, J.D. and Tiffany did some country dancing, my dad sung a great Christmas song, and we even had a special musical number by Jenny!! Needless to say, it was quite entertaining.

We got some wonderful news while we were all there. We found out that my aunt Brooke is pregnant with her second child, and Tara also announced that she is pregnant. She had Davis in a shirt that said Big Brother on it and nobody noticed. She had to point it out to my mom. We are so excited for both of them, and they are only 2 weeks apart. The two babies will be so much fun together!

We topped off the festivities with presents and some singing. Stephanie passed out glow sticks to everyone and we sang Christmas songs with the lights off. It was pretty entertaining. Lily loved watching the glow sticks move around. She was completely mesmerized.

When we were done at the Knowlden's house we headed over to Dave's house. Lily opened up her cute Christmas pajamas, and we put them on her for some pictures. She was being so cute, we got some really great shots of her by the tree.

Darrin and Nikki came over for a little bit with sweet baby Ella. Dave read the classic Christmas scripture, and he let us open one gift. Instead of getting us pajamas he did something a little different this year. He gave Darrin and Bryce some D.A.D.D. (Dads Against Daughters Dating) t-shirts. Which is hilarious because Lily and Ella probably won't be dating for quite awhile. And he gave me and Nikki a silver heart necklace with this saying on it "A mother holds her child's hands for a short while but their hearts forever". So cute!! What a perfect way to end Christmas Eve.

Let the Festivities Begin!

We got an invite from Jesse and Alice to come to their apartment and make gingerbread houses with them and Nick and Emilee. We were way excited and bought our little gingerbread house kit. But we felt quite lame when we showed up to find that Jesse and Alice were making a Log Cabin for their gingerbread house! It was pretty intense.

As you can see, Jesse and Alice were taking some time building their log cabin and we were already done with ours. They didn't even get the roof on before we called it quits for the night.

Bryce was being kind of a scrooge, and didn't want to help me decorate the house so this beauty was all mine!! We had a fun time around the table joking and laughing while making our houses.

And here is the finished product! So cute right? We finished the night off with some games and more goofing around. Thanks Jesse and Alice for the invite!!
