Our Little 1 Year Old

I cannot believe Lily is already a year old! Time just goes by so quickly. She is our little angel, and every day is a new adventure for our family. Words can't express how much we love our sweet Lily Bug.

Lily is on her own schedule and has refused to walk yet, but she is still into everything! She can crawl everywhere and she will walk along furniture or if you are holding her hands. She just hasn't wanted to take that first steps on her own yet. We took her in for her 12 month appointment and she weighed 22 pounds and measured at 30 1/2 inches long. She is in the 70th percentile for her weight and the 90th for her height. She is starting to thin out now that she is on the move all the time.

Her daddy got her a swimming pool for her birthday, and she absolutely loves it. She and Davis play in the pool when they have their play dates. I love that she is such a water baby, especially when it's the middle of summer in Utah. It's a nice way for all of us to cool off. Not only does she love the water, but she also loves the boat. We are going to Lake Powell and I'm sure she is going to have a blast. I had to throw the picture of Shawn with Lily in because I think it's such a sweet one. Another thing she loves is getting into my kitchen drawers, mostly the one with the water bottles in it. She climbs inside the drawer, like the picture, and thinks it is just hilarious. She definitely makes my life very busy.

Alice took her 1 year photos, and they turned out fabulous! We went up the canyon and got some really fun shots. Its so fun to see all of Lily's new facial expressions. She is just adorable!

Lily's First Birthday Party

We were so excited to throw Lily her first Birthday party. Mommy went a little overboard, but it turned out to be so cute. We went to the West Bountiful Park and set everything up at the bowery. I really stressed out about all the decorations and the cake put me to tears, but I was really happy with how it turned out.

 

We all enjoyed the yummy food and talked with each other for quite awhile. I was so happy that we had so many people come to support us and the birthday girl. It is amazing how many people love our Lily Bug. I had her all dolled up in her cute red romper. She looked adorable like always!!

 

 Lily was incredibly spoiled, of course, and get a ton of presents! She had a lot of fun opening them, and I was really surprised how excited she got with each one, it was way fun. 

 

In the craziness of the party and everything I totally forgot to sing Lily "Happy Birthday". I don't know how that happened, but we just put the cake in front of her and let her go to town. She was being so dainty with the cake and that wasn't good enough for Papa so he had to smash it in her face. She did not like that very much, but it was quite hilarious.

 

It was such a fun Birthday for Lily, and I am glad everything worked out so perfectly!! Happy Birthday Lily! We love you so much!!
