The Wind Storm December 1, 2011

I think December 1st will be remembered for a long time, or at least I will remember. We did not sleep at all the night before because of all the wind, and also because we took Lily in for her shots and she was up all night screaming. It was definitely a rough night, but we were still shocked in the morning when our back yard looked like this...

Our grill had tipped over, we had branches all over our yard and we even had some branches sticking out of our siding that Bryce had to go pull out. They left a bunch of holes in our siding and also some of our shingles had been ripped up. Needless to say, our damage was fairly minimal.

The power went out early that morning so our house was FREEZING. Bryce piled like 6 blankets on top of me and I was still cold. I was able to get a little nap in while Lily was sleeping. Bryce went out to help with the cleanup and Mandy came over to my house to talk and make sure we were alright. Lily was sleeping in her room, and Mandy and I were in the living room talking when all of the sudden we heard a huge gust of wind. We looked into the back window and saw a bunch of stuff flying at our house, and then we saw our neighbors shed lift off the ground and come toward our house. We hit the floor because we were sure it was coming through our window, but it didn't. We ran into Lily's room to make sure she was alright. She was fine and smiling of course. I went outside to see the damage and this is what I saw...

The shed tipped over our fence and all of the wood came flying at our house. The roof was lifted up and landed in the middle of our yard. All of the wood tore apart our siding and even hit the back of Bryce's truck. Luckily, it only damaged his tail lights. Bryce was still gone, so I took a bunch of pictures and talked to our neighbors about what we should do. When Bryce came home, I took Lily over to Tara's house because they still had power and we had a sleep over. It was incredible to watch the news and see all of the damage that had been done. So many trees had been tipped over, shingles ripped off houses, fences tipped over and it was so sad to see all of the people who had damage done to their homes. Needless to say, this day will be remembered for a very long time.

Lily is 6 months old!

Lily is getting so big, and I mean REALLY big. She is our little Chunk. Her cheeks have gotten so cute, it is the first thing people talk about when they see her.

She is sitting up on her own now, and she loves to just play with her toys on the floor. She decided that she didn't like her binky anymore, which is actually really nice. We won't have to deal with that when she is older now. She is such a happy baby, her face isn't big enough for her smiles. She gets so excited sometimes that her entire body will shake, and she twists her ankles and hands in circles. It is hilarious.

Tub-Time has been so much fun lately. She has been sitting up so she splashes like crazy, and plays with her toys. She gets so excited when we get her undressed because she knows it is time for her bath. She is so stinking cute.

She has been making lots of different sounds, mostly grunting and screaming, and she will even sing along with us at church. But the newest thing she has been doing is saying "De De" over and over. Bryce is convinced that she is saying "Dada" but i don't think so. We caught it on video so enjoy.

She is such a sweet baby, and we have had so much fun with her lately!

Alice, once again, did Lily's photos for her 6 month shoot, and they turned out so cute! She just came over to our house because it was so cold outside, and we did the shoot in our kitchen. Lily was a little fussy, but we got some really great shots. Thank you Alice!

We used this picture with the ornaments for our Christmas card. It turned out really cute!

It is hard not to enjoy life when you have such a sweet baby girl. We love our Lily Bug so much!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We have many things to be thankful for this year. Our sweet baby Lily came into our lives, we celebrated our 2 year anniversary, we have been in our new home for a little over a year, and we have so many friends and family close by. Darrin and Nikki had their sweet baby Ella on November 23, 2011. She weighed in at 7 lbs 7 oz and measured at 19 1/2 inches long. She has so much dark hair it is incredible. We are so excited for her and Lily to become great friends. It is so much fun to have them so close in age.

This year we were able to eat dinner with both sides of the family. We went to Jeff and Denise's house first and shared an amazing meal with the Burnham side of the family. We had so much fun with our cousins and with cute baby Alayna. Then we went over to my parents house to have dinner with my side of the family. It was pretty crowded in my parents house with all of our cousins, but we made it work. We gave Lily her very own Thanksgiving feast and fed her carrots for the first time. She LOVED them. It was hilarious she would cry until you put more in her mouth. She just couldn't get enough of them. We had a fun time playing with Grandpa and he had to show everyone is cool trick.

After everyone ate and went shopping for a little bit at Michaels, we decided to take a soak in the Hot Tub. We put Davis and Lily in there and they had a blast. Lily would just splash and splash until her entire face was soaked. She is definitely our little water baby.

We had such a fun Thanksgiving with our families, and we have so much to be grateful for!

Zoey the Kitty Cat

So Bryce came home after buying his new work truck, and told me that the lady he bought it from had an abandoned kitten she was trying to find a home for. This was a mistake...... I immediately went to Walmart and got everything I would need for a new kitten, and then went to pick her up that night. She was so adorable!

It took her a few days to warm up to Toby, but once she did they would play together. One of my favorite things about her was the fact that she would sleep anywhere. I got some really cute pictures of her sleeping.

We had a lot of fun with Zoey, but unfortunately Becca is really allergic to cats so we had to give her up. There was a really nice man from West Bountiful that came and picked her up. He had another cat and also a dog so she will have lots of play mates!

Halloween Fun

We had a lot of fun this Halloween. The first thing we did was carved pumpkins at our house with Jesse & Alice and Brianne & Shawn. Bryce had to pull out the saws-all to do his pumpkin it was really funny. Jesse was sculpting his pumpkin (he is really competitive and always wants to have the best). Alice painted her pumpkin, which was really cute. And Brianne, Shawn and I all did the pictures that come in the kits.

Lily even hung out with us in her Bumbo. She is such a good baby, which makes it easy for us to hang out with friends and have a great time.

The finished products were pretty amazing. And we finished the night off with a scary movie. Gotta love Halloween!

The next thing we were able to do was go to our ward Halloween party. They had a Trunk-or-Treat in the church parking lot. We dressed up as a cowboy and cowgirl and Lily was our cute little cow. We decorated our trunk with some pumpkins and hay bails, and Bryce was even holding a pitch fork. We looked like such hicks. You can see Lily laying down in the back of the Expedition (she was not very happy to be a cow).

We had a family Halloween party at my parents house which was way fun! Everybody dressed up and we had some Minute to Halloween It Fun!

Tara and Ricky put together a really fun Minute to Halloween It game. There were five different games we had to complete. The first one was putting a kleenex box full of ping pong balls around your waste and you had to shake your butt until they all fell out. It was pretty fun to watch.

For the next game you had to pick up three pumpkins off the books on the floor blindfolded without letting any of them touch the floor. This one was pretty simple and most everyone completed this one.
We also had to spin around in a circle to unwrap an entire roll of toilet paper. This one made most all of us sick, but was still really fun to watch.

The next one we did was stack three skulls on another team members forehead, and they had to stay balanced for 5 seconds. It took us awhile to get the hang of this one but most of us got it.

The hardest one was holding the rulers with the batteries on them with only your forearms, and transferring them to the other chairs without letting the batteries fall off. Nobody was able to  complete this without cheating.

The finale was the paper sacks that were all cut into different heights, and you had to pick each one up without letting anything touch the floor but your feet. You had to be pretty flexible to complete this, so needless to say none of the boys were able to finish this one.

We had so much fun this Halloween! We can't wait until next year.
